Wednesday, June 19, 2024 Swedavia boosts its partnership with MSF to foster societal benefits and support global humanitarian efforts. Swedavia is enhancing its longstanding partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières by installing additional collection facilities across its airports. At Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden’s largest airport, forty new receptacles for PET bottles and returnable cans have been positioned within the passenger zones.

This initiative builds on a multi-year agreement between Swedavia and Médecins Sans Frontières to gather deposit bottles and cans at Swedavia’s airports and corporate locations. All proceeds from these collections are contributed to the organization’s critical humanitarian efforts. Additionally, the partnership reflects Swedavia’s supportive policy towards employees taking sabbaticals to participate in Médecins Sans Frontières’ global projects.

“Our collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières is important and we are pleased to continue our cooperation agreement and also this year significantly expand the collection opportunities at Sweden’s largest airport. In addition to the benefits of recycling plastic bottles, promoting circularity and contributing monetarily to the aid organisation’s activities with the collected deposit, there is also an important value in making Médecins Sans Frontières’ life-saving work visible worldwide,” says Fredrik Jaresved , Director of Strategic Initiatives and Innova.
