Wednesday, May 22, 2024 Four Seasons Resort Langkawi hosts the Terry Fox Run debut on July 6, 2024. Join at Dataran Tanjung Rhu for a 5k or 10k run supporting Cancer Research Malaysia. The Terry Fox Run, an international event honoring Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, is making its debut on the island of Langkawi.

On July 6, 2024, the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi invites local residents and guests to join in a collective effort towards a future free from cancer. The run will start and finish at Dataran Tanjung Rhu, beginning at 6:00 am. All funds raised will support Cancer Research Malaysia.

Participants have the option to complete either a 5 or 10-kilometer route, at their own pace, whether running, jogging, or walking to show their support for cancer research. As a non-competitive charity event, there will be no official timing. Supporters can also join the cause by purchasing Terry Fox Run 2024 t-shirts, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research Malaysia.

Several team members from Four Seasons will participate in the run. The Terry Fox Run traces its roots back to 1980, when 22-year-old Terry Fox, who had lost his leg to bone cancer, embarked on a 5,374-kilometer (3,339-mile) run across Canada to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Despite facing harsh weather conditions, he continued his Marathon of Hope until cancer spread to his lungs, forcing him to stop.

He passed away the following year, having raised 24 million Canadian dollars for cancer research. In.
