Friday, June 7, 2024 Southwest Airlines has been ranked as the top airline on Forbes America’s Best Employers for Veterans List, honoring companies that create thriving workplaces for former and current military members. “We’re proud to receive this honor as we strive to foster a workplace that our veterans, service members, and their families treasure every day,” said Lindsey Lang, Vice President People at Southwest Airlines. “We appreciate each of our military service members who bring their valuable and unique skills to Southwest and are grateful for their service to our country and our airline.
” Forbes, in collaboration with market research firm Statista, surveyed 8,500 veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves, or National Guard, and are currently employed by companies with over 1,000 employees.
The survey asked participants to rate their employers on factors such as work responsibilities, salary, company image, and support systems for military families. Additionally, they were asked if they would recommend their company to friends and family and to evaluate other companies within their industries. The results were compiled into a scoring system, and the top 150 companies with the highest scores made the prestigious list.
