Wednesday, June 26, 2024 Slovenian gastronomy has reached a new milestone. In the 2024 Michelin Guide for Slovenia, the number of listed restaurants has increased to 63, up by four from the previous year. This achievement places Slovenia among Europe’s culinary superpowers.

Five new restaurants have received the Bib Gourmand award for their excellent value for money. Additionally, eight restaurants have earned a Green Star for sustainability, reaffirming Slovenia’s position as the top European country in terms of Michelin Green Stars per capita. For the fifth consecutive year, the Michelin Guide has spotlighted the finest Slovenian restaurants, reaffirming the exceptional quality, sustainability, and diversity of Slovenian gastronomy.

Hiša Franko, led by chef Ana Roš, continues to shine with three Michelin stars. Notably, Hiša Franko also boasts a Green Star, underscoring its dedication to sustainability. This dual recognition places Hiša Franko among an elite group of just 33 restaurants worldwide to receive both distinctions.

Ana Roš is one of only eight female chefs globally to hold three Michelin stars and one of two chefs worldwide to combine this accolade with the Green Star. Other remarkable restaurants include Milka, under chef David Žefran, which retains its impressive two Michelin stars. The guide also highlights eight restaurants awarded one Michelin star, with Pavus Restaurant, led by Chef Mark Pavčnik, being a notable newcomer.
