Monday, June 24, 2024 Beginning June 25, Stellar Lifestyle, in collaboration with Singapore Post Limited (SingPost), will launch a groundbreaking pilot project to collect mail via SMRT-operated trains. This initiative, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to assess the feasibility of increasing postal service access points adjacent to MRT stations. For the first time, SingPost will utilize MRT trains as a means of postal collection, augmenting its fleet of vehicles.

The pilot seeks to evaluate the operational and environmental benefits of using MRT trains for mail collection, focusing on cost efficiency and reductions in carbon emissions. Over a three-month period starting tomorrow, designated Mail Ambassadors will gather postal items at Tampines and Raffles Place MRT stations and transport them to the SingPost sorting center near Paya Lebar MRT station. These collections will occur daily between the off-peak hours of 11am and 2pm on the East-West Line.



Each day, up to two Mail Ambassadors, recognizable by their SingPost uniforms, will perform the collections, using familiar MRT train cabins.
