Tuesday, June 4, 2024 As the excitement of Pride month intensifies, Seattle proudly upholds its role as a haven for LGBTQIA+ unity and celebration throughout the year. Visit Seattle, the official destination marketing organization for the area, recently invited LGBTQIA+ couples from across the globe to partake in a vow renewal ceremony aboard the renowned Argosy cruise ship, now known as the Love For All Boat. This memorable event, which took place on May 30, witnessed 56 couples renewing their vows, achieving a new world record.

The celebration was led by Seattle’s own BenDeLaCreme, a star from RuPaul’s Drag Race, and officiated by Justice Mary Yu. The event raised funds for the GSBA Scholarship Fund, aiding LGBTQIA+ and ally students in Washington. “There is something magical about celebrating LGBTQIA+ love through a shared experience like this – knowing that Seattle, and this occasion, will have a lasting spot in the stories of so many couples is something our organization will always treasure,” said Michael Woody , who participated in the vow renewal with his husband of three years, Kevin, and is chief communications officer for Visit Seattle.

“This experience was about our city proudly affirming its vow to the LGBTQIA+ community as a place that they can always feel welcome to love openly and be their authentic selves.” In a gesture celebrating this commitment to diversity, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell proclaimed May 30 as Love For All Day.
