Monday, July 1, 2024 Schindler has joined forces with the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Talaat Moustafa Group to launch a localization program. This initiative will focus on sourcing, assembling, and commissioning specific elevator components for various development projects spearheaded by the Ministry of Housing. To support Egypt’s initiative to attract foreign investment and boost local industrialization, the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), the Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), and Schindler have signed a framework cooperation agreement.
Under this agreement, Schindler will implement a gradual localization program for selected elevator components, which will be sourced, assembled, and commissioned in Egypt for regional projects led by the Ministry of Housing. AOI and TMG will establish a facility for Schindler to carry out these operations. Once the facility is set up, Schindler will provide technical expertise and management, and will assemble and install elevators in various upcoming national projects of the Ministry of Housing.
The agreement is anticipated to cover the supply of up to 5,000 units annually over a span of up to 10 years.
