Thursday, June 13, 2024 The “Rail Business Days,” a premier international expo and conference dedicated to the rail sector, its infrastructure, and logistics, is currently underway in Ostrava, Czechia. At this event, Stadler is showcasing the latest FLIRT electric multiple-unit train, specifically designed for the Serbian Railways. These 18 new trains, intended for deployment across Serbia, aim to enhance regional transportation with cutting-edge technology.
The FLIRT electric multiple-unit train for Serbian Railways (Srbija Voz) In late 2021, Serbian Railways (Srbija Voz) finalized a deal with Stadler for 18 FLIRT state-of-the-art electric multiple units designated for regional travel throughout Serbia. This deal marks the third collaboration between Stadler and Serbian Railways, following the initial procurement of 21 FLIRT trains in 2014 and an additional order for three high-speed KISS train fleets in 2015. These trains have earned accolades for their comfort and dependability among passengers.
The new trains will expand the existing fleet of Stadler-operated vehicles in Serbia. Designed by Stadler’s Prague engineering team and assembled at the Stadler facility in Siedlce, Poland, the project is progressing smoothly. Currently, eight of the 18 trains have been delivered to Serbia, with the first two units undergoing testing on Serbian rail infrastructure.
This testing phase includes monitored runs with passengers, spanning either 30 days or 15,000 kilometers. Upon s.
