As parents , we're familiar with the challenge of keeping many balls in the air, but never has it been this much fun - or had so much enthusiastic support from our offspring . "QUICK! It's falling!" cries my five-year-old as she launches herself at a large, red beach ball. She bats it and away it goes, but just as quickly three more descend.

In Cairns, families pack onto the sunny Esplanade lawns while in Bluey's hometown of Brisbane, Queensland premier Steven Miles and his daughter join in the mayhem at Southbank. Here on the Gold Coast, amongst the chaos was a lot of laughter and a good dose of Bandit-like competitive spirit.



But as the alarm sounds to signal that time is up, the anxious wait begins. Will we break the world record?
