Potentially devastating storms, complete with tornadoes and intense hail, are set to impact areas throughout the Midwest today, raising alarms for disruptive weather patterns that could impact travel plans. Today’s forecast predicts a surge of severe thunderstorms, with tornadoes reaching or surpassing EF2 strength likely.

Over 25 million inhabitants across the region face a significant threat, ranging from a Level 3 to Level 4 risk of severe weather conditions, according to the Storm Prediction Center. Early morning has already seen powerful storms in the Midwest, with even more severe conditions expected to unfold later. Peak storm activity is anticipated this afternoon through the evening across the Midwest.
