Places to go in London when you've seen all the major sights

You've lapped up this history at the Tower of London, pressed your face against the gates of Buckingham Palace, battled the crowds at Piccadilly Circus and marvelled at the view from the London Eye.But there are plenty more things to do in the UK capital outside of the bucket list spots, especially if you want to get more of a taste of local life.Here are some of our favourite areas of London to wander around once you've ticked off the major attractions.READ MORE: Ten things to do on a visit to LondonHampsteadIt's no surprise the new instalment of the Bridget Jones film is currently being filmed in this village-like suburb in the city's north.It's a gorgeous spot that doesn't feel like London at all.It's famous for Hampstead Heath, a huge park which has wild woodland, meadows and even swimming ponds (if you're feeling brave).Taylor Swift even mentions it on her new album, singing about a 'house on the Heath' as it's rumoured she was planning to settle close by.READ MORE: The best budget cities for travellers in Europe have been revealedIndeed you'd probably need to be as well-off as Swift to live here.Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter and Harry Styles are just some of the many celeb who have homes in the millionaires' enclave, making it an A-list hotspot.Not to mention Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry, Benedict Cumberbatch - it's here they move once they make it.Even Elizabeth Taylor, George Michael and George Orwell have called it home.It's full of cute shops - check out the designer secondhand boutiques as well as charity shops and cafes. We'd recommend The Bridge House pub for a tasty lunch. You can walk there from Paddington tube.Richmond upon ThamesFans of TV show Ted Lasso won't need much introduction to this town, west of London.It's where the fictional football team plays - but you don't have to be into sport to enjoy it.READ MORE: Best time to visit BaliThe pub from the TV show is here though it's really called the Prince's Head, and you can also see Ted's house.You can take a walking tour, or peruse the area yourself.There is also a branch of US celeb favourite store Anthropologie for the shoppers.Don't miss a walk along the glorious river bank, where you might even see traditional rowing boats speed by. Climb aboard the old tea clipper which dates back to 1869 and sailed the world's high seas.Don't miss lunch at traditional pie and mash shop, Goddards, which has been dishing up tasty and affordable treats since 1890.You can catch the Uber boat from Central London, though the train is a cheaper option.
