Continuous operational assessments, the integration of advanced, more effective technologies, and thorough training for both air and ground staff are central to this commitment. Moreover, the active exchange of best practices and collaborative efforts among aviation operators play a crucial role in ensuring ongoing safety in the skies. José Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director & CEO of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), stresses that these statistics are the result of a joint effort by the entire industry: ”The level of safety achieved by aviation equals that a person would have to travel by air every day for 103,239 years to experience a fatal accident.
