Thursday, May 23, 2024 The PATA Nepal Chapter, together with the Nepal Tourism Board and seven private sector partners, successfully showcased Nepal’s tourism at the 32nd Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF), held from May 16-18, 2024, in Guangzhou, China. The event, covering 30,000 square meters, attracted over 40,000 attendees from China and abroad. On May 16, the Nepal Tourism Board delivered a presentation promoting Nepal to local Chinese visitors and tour operators.
That evening, the PATA Nepal Chapter garnered two prestigious accolades: the Gold Award for “Overall Performance” from the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute and the “Best Partner” Award from GITF at the Buyers Night event at the Westin Pazhou, Guangzhou. Additionally, the Nepal Tourism Board received the “Most Popular Cultural Tourism Destination” Award from GITF, and Jugal Holidays of Nepal was recognized with the Gold Award for “Product Innovation” from the same institute. The following day, during the GITF 2024 Conference, key figures including Ms.
Lakpa Phuti Sherpa, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal, and Mr. Kundan Sharma of NTB engaged in a panel discussion on ‘Sustainable Tourism Offerings of Nepal for Chinese Visitors during the Times of Climate Change.
