A Jet2 flight travelling from Benidorm to Ireland on Monday was grounded for a short period after landing following a health scare on board the aircraft. Passengers on board Flight LS302 from the Alicante, Spain sun-soaked destination were kept on the tarmac after arriving at Belfast International Airport just after 2pm on Monday afternoon due to reports that a fellow traveller was exhibiting signs of chicken pox. After facing the lengthy three-hour-plus flight, weary holidaymakers on their way back home were delayed by more than an hour as the aircraft crew waited for port authority officials to arrive.

Jet2 subsequently apologised to their customers for the delay, confirming that Port Health officials boarded the aircraft following the reports.



In a statement to the publication, a Jet2 spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Port Health officials boarded flight LS302 earlier today [Monday] after reports of a customer showing possible chicken pox symptoms.
