The plane later continued to Jeddah safely. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Hajj flight, PK 839, executed an emergency landing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, late Friday night.
After undergoing an inspection, the plane departed for its intended destination in Jeddah on Saturday. The Hajj flight, which originally took off at 10 PM on Saturday from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, was diverted to Riyadh for an emergency landing. Earlier, a passenger informed Geo News that a loud explosion was heard during the flight.
Immediately after the unexpected sound was reported, the plane was diverted to Riyadh, where it made an emergency landing. Following the landing, passengers were disembarked from the Boeing 777 and moved to the lounge at Riyadh airport. However, after an inspection, it was determined that the warning was false, and the flight departed for Jeddah following a quick check.
Several air incidents have recently made headlines, raising passenger safety concerns. Just a week ago, a Singapore Airlines flight encountered severe turbulence on May 21, resulting in one passenger’s death from a suspected heart attack and injuring 30 others. The turbulence flung passengers and crew around the cabin, forcing the plane to land in Bangkok.
