Thirty-four passengers from a Singapore Airlines flight remain hospitalized in Bangkok nearly a week after their flight encountered severe turbulence, highlighting the gravity of the incident. The airline reported late Monday that 50 individuals from the May 21 London-Singapore flight are still in Bangkok, with some receiving medical care.

All crew members from Flight SQ321 have returned to Singapore. Thai authorities indicated that most injuries involved the head or spine, with over a dozen people requiring surgery. In response, Singapore Airlines has implemented stricter cabin rules during turbulence but has not mandated that passengers wear seat belts throughout the flight.



The airline is fully cooperating with authorities investigating the incident, which resulted in one fatality. The plane made an emergency landing in Bangkok. The turbulence hit Singapore Airlines flight from London’s Heathrow to Singapore on a Boeing 777, causing the hospitalization of two crew members and 44 passengers in Bangkok, the airline revealed on its Facebook page on Tuesday, May 21.
