Tuesday, May 21, 2024 San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) anticipates a bustling Memorial Day holiday weekend, with over 130,000 passengers expected from Friday, May 24th to Monday, May 27th. This year’s passenger traffic is projected to match the levels observed during the same period last year. Travelers are advised to arrive early and reserve airport parking in advance.
“This Memorial Day, our OAK staff remembers those who lost their lives while defending our country,” says Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We thank travelers who have chosen to fly OAK over the long weekend and throughout the summer season. We hope that passengers enjoy the new service and the food and beverage concessions making their debut at OAK this summer.
” Memorial Day signifies the traditional start of the summer travel season. OAK anticipates over 3.4 million passengers will pass through its doors between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
