Monday, May 20, 2024 Oakland International Airport (OAK) in the San Francisco Bay Area anticipates bustling activity during the Memorial Day holiday travel weekend. With projections of over 130,000 passengers passing through the airport from Friday, May 24th to Monday, May 27th, traffic is expected to match last year’s levels. Travelers are advised to plan ahead, arrive early, and secure airport parking in advance.
“This Memorial Day, our OAK staff remembers those who lost their lives while defending our country,” says Craig Simon , Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We thank travelers who have chosen to fly OAK over the long weekend and throughout the summer season. We hope that passengers enjoy the new service and the food and beverage concessions making their debut at OAK this summer.

New routes at OAK this summer include: Sun Country Airlines service to Minneapolis-Saint Paul – beginning May 23 Delta Air Lines to Atlanta – beginning June 7 Viva Aerobus to Monterrey, Mexico – beginning July 1 Seasonal service resuming this summer includes: Allegiant Air to Bellingham, Idaho Falls, Missoula, and Glacier National Park (Kalispell, Montana).
