Thursday, June 27, 2024 Norwegian is expanding its operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with the launch of a new direct route to Skellefteå Airport, starting on October 28. Skellefteå is becoming a hub for sustainable business practices, driven by the rapidly developing business climate in northern Sweden. This growth is increasing the demand for better connectivity to the region.

Northern Sweden is attracting companies and industries committed to a sustainable future. As socioeconomic development accelerates, the need for improved infrastructure and accessibility is rising. Skellefteå is poised for significant growth, with new businesses setting up and existing ones expanding, highlighting the critical importance of strong regional connectivity.

We’re always happy when Norwegian launches new routes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport, but a new domestic route is of course especially welcome! Strong domestic air travel options are important for people’s opportunities to meet throughout the country and to travel further out into the world, both privately and for business, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. Norwegian has a longstanding presence at Swedavias airports, and I am delighted that they continue to expand by adding new important routes to their vast network. – The development in Skellefteå with many companies investing heavily in the region increases the need for excellent connectivity to the rest of the world.

Currently, there.
