Monday, May 20, 2024 The 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Tea Culture Festival recently commenced at Chaoyang Park and Junwangfu Hotel, featuring over 100 tea brands. The festival includes tea parties, poetry readings about tea, and traditional Chinese performances, drawing numerous domestic and international visitors. As one steps into Junwangfu Hotel, the soothing strains of the guqin are immediately audible.
This elegant garden-style venue has been converted into a hub for tea culture, with areas designated for exhibitions, interactive sessions, immersive shopping, and new cultural experiences, offering guests a deep dive into the traditional Chinese tea culture. The event also hosts unique activities such as scent ceremonies, flower arrangement (ikebana), Hanfu cultural performances, poetry sessions related to tea, tea tasting, flower identification, and modern offerings like the “Tea & Coffee Theme Salon” and “Sunset Music Party”, all tailored to encourage social interactions among the youth over tea. Despite not being a tea-producing region, Beijing’s Chaoyang District is renowned for its high tea consumption, leading the city with its traditional tea houses and innovative tea drink establishments.
