Friday, May 24, 2024 This summer, Mount Rainier National Park will introduce a pilot timed entry reservation system aimed at enhancing the visitor experience by reducing wait times, congestion, and the environmental impact on trails. The pilot program, active during the summer, mandates timed entry reservations for two specific park areas: From May 24 to September 2, timed entry is necessary for the Paradise Corridor accessed via the Nisqually or Stevens Canyon entrances; reservations cover Paradise, Cougar Rock, Reflection Lakes, Kautz Creek, Longmire, Comet, Christine and Narada Falls, Bench/Snow Lake, and Box Canyon. From July 4 to September 2, the Sunrise Corridor requires timed entry through the White River entrance; this includes access to Sunrise, White River, Summerland, Glacier Basin, and Owyhigh Lakes.

Timed entry reservations are obligatory from 7 a.m. to 3 p.



m., valid for a single day per vehicle, and are in addition to the entrance fee or park pass. Reservations provide a two-hour window for entry and must be booked for the specific corridor matching the visitor’s plans.

Each corridor requires a separate vehicle reservation. A reservation accommodates one personal or rental vehicle (car or motorcycle). Reservations are available exclusively through www.

recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. Park entrance fees must be purchased onsite as they are not available online through Recreation.
