Monday, June 10, 2024 The Superyacht Eco Association’s pioneering Sea Index CO2 tool, along with its independently verified certification for superyachts over 25 meters, has earned the prestigious Capenergies label, highlighting its innovative strides in mitigating the environmental impact and carbon footprint of large yachts. Formulated within the framework of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ initiative, the Sea Index marks a significant leap forward in maritime sustainability. It stands as the inaugural tool to gauge energy intensity and juxtapose CO2 emissions among superyachts exceeding 25 meters, drawing upon data provided by manufacturers and specialized onboard equipment.

This initiative underscores Monaco’s dedication to spearheading the yachting industry towards a greener horizon. The Capenergies cluster plays a pivotal role in fostering novel projects and fostering their growth to expedite the Energy Transition. Comprising a vibrant network of nearly 520 members encompassing major industrial players, enterprises (including a majority of SMEs and startups), research institutions, training centers, local authorities, and investors, the cluster specializes in energy and its various applications.



With ties to over 300 partners across France and Europe, Capenergies serves as a nexus for innovation and collaboration in the energy sector. Bestowed by a select 12-member committee, the Capenergies label underscores the innovative es.
