Wednesday, July 10, 2024 Milan Bergamo Airport has reported a record-breaking first half in 2024, servicing 8,417,014 passengers from January to June. This marks a notable 10% surge compared to its previous high in the same period last year, with a substantial 766,652 more passengers being accommodated. The airport witnessed growth across all significant areas, including a 9.

9% increase in scheduled flights and a 29.5% boost in charter flights. Additionally, more travelers are utilizing Bergamolynk, a comprehensive service that allows them to efficiently plan their trips using Milan Bergamo as their transfer hub.



The airport also recorded 53,623 aircraft movements in this six-month stretch, a 10.1% rise from 2023. Top travel spots for the period included cities like Tirana, Bucharest, London Stansted, and Naples, with Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt emerging as the most popular charter destinations.

Cargo traffic also saw a robust increase, with 11,469,545 kilograms of freight processed, an 8% increase from the previous year. The airport’s growth was further fueled by the addition of new airlines and routes. In these six months, seventeen new routes were launched by carriers such as Aeroitalia, Eurowings, Neos, Norwegian, Ryanair, Dan Air, Lumiwings, and Nile Air—the latter three newly introduced to Milan Bergamo.

The airport’s expanded range of destinations now offers more varied travel options, from city breaks in Helsinki, Sarajevo, Hannover, and Copenhagen t.
