Wednesday, June 26, 2024 Diversity stands as a cornerstone of Canada’s strength, particularly evident in Manitoba. Our province’s economy thrives when entrepreneurs from varied backgrounds receive robust support to grow their ventures. By fostering innovation and economic growth throughout local communities, the Government of Canada is actively advancing Manitoba’s entrepreneurial landscape and bolstering Indigenous enterprises.

Today, at Manitou a bi Bii daziigae, hosted at the RRC Polytech Exchange District campus, the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan, announced a significant investment of over $3.9 million across six projects throughout Manitoba. These initiatives aim to enhance economic development and promote inclusivity in the province.



These investments will not only attract tourists to Manitoba but also create job opportunities, provide training, support Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and boost export sales. The funded projects span various regions of Manitoba, including Westman Immigrant Services in Brandon, Swampy Cree Tribal Council Inc. communities, Atoskiwin Training and Employment Centre in Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, National Indigenous Residential School Museum in Portage la Prairie, and initiatives led by RRC Polytech and Indigenous Tourism Manitoba in Winnipeg.

Funding for these projects is sourced from several federal programs, including the Community Economic Development and Diversification Program (CEDD), Regional Innova.
