Sunday, June 23, 2024 Malaysia greeted 10,000 participants from Perfect China Group as part of their 30th Anniversary Conference, set to occur at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) on June 20, 2024. The attendees, hailing from various Chinese regions including Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau, are set to explore Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Melaka. Their itinerary features a historical exploration of Malacca City, upscale shopping in Kuala Lumpur, and durian tasting in Broga, Selangor, promising a comprehensive Malaysian cultural experience.

Tourism is a critical component of Malaysia’s economic strategy, particularly with the ongoing visa exemption for Chinese visitors, which is crucial for rejuvenating the sector. With the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026, this visa policy is expected to boost Chinese tourist visits significantly, reinforcing Malaysia’s status as a prime travel destination. This is in line with the country’s goal to attract 35.



6 million visitors and generate RM147.1 billion (approximately US$31.2 billion) in tourism revenue by 2026.

Malaysia’s tourism agencies, including the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Tourism Malaysia, and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), are actively supporting this large-scale visit. This initiative not only aims to enhance Malaysia-China relations but also to showcase Malaysia’s unique appeal in anticipation of Visit Malaysia Year .
