Friday, June 7, 2024 Malaysia Airlines Bhd is set to significantly enhance its connectivity between Amritsar and Kuala Lumpur by expanding its flight frequency from four to seven times weekly starting August 1, 2024. This move is driven by the robust travel demand and impressive load factor performance on this route, marking a strategic step in the airline’s growth and its commitment to serving the Indian market. With the increased frequency, Malaysia Airlines will elevate its total weekly flights in India to 71.
This decision comes on the heels of the airline’s earlier move in January 2024, where it doubled its flights on the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur route from two to four times weekly. The airline’s confidence in the burgeoning market of Amritsar is evident, showcasing its proactive approach to tapping into high-demand routes. Since its introduction in November 2023, Amritsar has joined Ahmedabad and Trivandrum as one of the three new routes Malaysia Airlines added to its India network that year.
The airline has also bolstered its services on the Trivandrum route, increasing frequencies to four times weekly starting April 3, 2024. This expansion reflects Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to broadening its footprint across India, catering to the growing travel demands of Indian passengers. Malaysia Airlines boasts an impressive network in India, offering flights from nine major hubs: New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandru.
