Friday, June 7, 2024 Due to robust travel demand and a favorable load factor on the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur route, Malaysia Airlines is set to increase its weekly flights from four to seven starting August 1, 2024. This boost in service follows a previous frequency enhancement from two to four weekly flights in January 2024, reflecting the airline’s confidence in this thriving market. With the additional flights from Amritsar, Malaysia Airlines will operate a total of 71 weekly flights across India.

Amritsar, which became a new destination for the airline in November 2023, is one of three new Indian routes launched that year, alongside Ahmedabad and Trivandrum. Additionally, the frequency of flights to Trivandrum was increased to four times a week as of April 3, 2024. Malaysia Airlines maintains a broad network in India, with flights to nine major cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum.

As a key gateway for Indian travelers to Asia and beyond, the airline offers convenient connections to destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and other important locations in the Asia Pacific region. Commenting on this development, Dersenish Aresandiran , Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said “India remains a cornerstone of our business strategy. We are delighted to strengthen our operations in this dynamic market by further boosting flight frequencies from Amritsar.
