RYANAIR has warned passengers of "potential disruptions" today as heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected to hit the country. " Met Eireann Aoife Kealy said that thunderstorms with intense downpours are expected once again, turning heavy in the east, south, and Midlands. She said: "It's gonna be another fairly warm day today. Temperatures are getting up to the mid-eighteen generally, but those warmest temperatures will give some more heavy showers this afternoon - but the chance of some thunderstorms once again.

"More frequent showers are going to develop throughout the morning - turning heavy in the east, south and the midlands this afternoon with intense downpours and thunderstorms developing and chances of hail, too. "Some of the heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms continue but in the night showers will become less frequent." Met Eireann added: "The best of any dry weather will be in Connacht.
