A MAJOR airline has announced a range of "exciting" new routes from Ireland that will start this winter - and there's even one to a bucket list destination. Air France will now offer routes from Dublin to Salvador in Brazil, Male in the Maldives and Kiruna in Sweden. These three are the first additions to the new 2024-2025 winter schedule.

All of the flights will be via Paris -Charles de Gaulle. There will be three flights a week to Salvador in Brazil on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Beginning on October 28, 2024, the flights will be operated on an Airbus A350-900s equipped with 324 seats (34 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 266 in Economy).



Salvador is the former Brazilian capital and is now a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. It's Air France's fifth Brazilian destination alongside Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza and Bélem (the latter from Cayenne, French Guiana). As a result of the new route, the airline will now operate up to 30 flights a week to and from Brazil, allowing Air France customers to connect to 40 domestic destinations in Brazil.

There will be two flights a week on Fridays and Sundays to Male in the Maldives , starting on December 20, 2024 and running until January 5, 2025. Flights will be operated on Airbus A350-900s equipped with 292 seats. Air France will also have one weekly flight on Saturdays to Kiruna in Sweden , starting on December 21, 2024.

This will be the airline's fifth destination in Lapland, alongside Rovaniemi and Kittilä.
