All traffic was stopped on the M5 following a "problem" this afternoon (Thursday, May 23). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the issue took place on the southbound carriageway. All vehicles were stopped from junction 8 to junction 9 for Tewkesbury at around 1.
35pm. They were released and traffic had returned to normal by 2pm. Inrix says: "Traffic returned to normal, earlier traffic problem on M5 Southbound from J8 M50 to J9 A46 (Tewkesbury).
Traffic was briefly held at around 13:35 whilst the problem was dealt with.".
