Two lanes are closed on the M5 in Gloucestershire following a crash this afternoon (Tuesday, June 25). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, a car plunged off the carriageway whilst heading northbound. The lane closures are now in place between junction 12 for Quedgeley and junction 11A for Gloucester as recovery work takes place.
The crash was first reported at 12.48pm and traffic is now building on the motorway. Inrix says: "Delays and two lanes closed due to recovery work and accident, a car involved on M5 Northbound from J12 A430 (Quedgeley / Hardwicke) to J11A A417 (Gloucester / Cirencester).
Camera shows recovery is taking place for a car that has left the carriageway, lanes one and two ( of three) are now closed, traffic was held briefly around 12:45.".
