Friday, June 28, 2024 Las Vegas Sands has donated $270,000 to The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada (The Center) through Sands Cares. This contribution supports The Center’s ongoing expansion efforts and empowers its participation in Sands Cares Accelerator, a three-year program aimed at enhancing nonprofit impact. Part of this donation is earmarked for office space to facilitate the expansion of the Arlene Cooper Community Health Center.
Additionally, The Center will bolster its marketing capabilities through Sands Cares Accelerator, while the remaining funds will support media and communications initiatives to increase visibility. For three decades, The Center has played a crucial role in Las Vegas, offering a welcoming environment and a wide range of programs, services, events, education, and support groups for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. It serves as a central hub for essential resources, including food delivery, healthcare services, mental health support, and community advocacy.
