Monday, June 3, 2024 Korean Air was inducted into Air Transport World’s (ATW) Airline Industry Hall of Fame on May 31 during the ATW’s 50th Annual Airline Industry Achievements Awards at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For five decades, ATW has been a leading aviation publication, recognizing airlines, industry organizations, and individuals through a rigorous review by a global panel of editors and analysts. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, ATW inducted six airlines, including Korean Air, Delta Air Lines, and Emirates; two industry organizations, Pittsburgh Airport and Airlink; and former Etihad Airways CEO James Hogan into the Hall of Fame for their significant contributions to the global aviation industry.
“Korean Air, under the exceptional leadership of Walter Cho, has set the bar for Asian and global air transport,” said ATW Editor-in-Chief Karen Walker . “The company has won three significant ATW awards in succession – Airline of the Year, Air Cargo Operator, and Excellence in Leadership—so it is fitting that Korean Air should take its deserved place in the inaugural ATW Hall of Fame. My congratulations to Walter Cho and his team.
