To mark the summer vacation season, Korea Airports Corporation (Acting President Lee Jung-ki) has partnered with domestic travel agencies (Travel Workshop, Yega Tour, UMIT) to launch air travel packages that combine regional characteristics with tourism trends. The corporation has developed diverse travel theme packages reflecting regional tourism trends for four domestic routes: Gimpo-Gwangju, Gimpo-Pohang/Gyeongju, Gimpo-Yeosu, and Gimpo-Ulsan. These packages include activities such as sports viewing, cultural trips, nature healing, and career experiences.
To benefit tourists, the corporation will provide up to 50,000 KRW per person in airfare support to the partnering travel agencies. The ‘Gwangju Sports Tour Package’ for the Gimpo-Gwangju route includes watching sports events in Gwangju, such as Kia Tigers baseball games and Gwangju FC soccer matches, and visiting popular spots like Dongmyeong-dong Café Street and the sentimental Penguin Village. Travelers using the ‘Pohang & Gyeongju 1 Night 2 Days Package’ on the Gimpo-Pohang/Gyeongju route can explore the Guryongpo Modern Culture and History Street, enjoy a culinary tour at Jukdo Market, and visit Igari Anchor Observatory with its panoramic view of the Pohang Sea via tourist taxis.
