JET2 has added a new flight route from a UK airport to a romantic European town after "strong demand". The airline will now fly to Verona following a surge in demand for the northern Italian city. The route will start on December 21, 2024 and run through to April 5 next year.
The Jet2 route is expected to open up resorts in and around the Dolomites, including Val di Fassa, Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina d’Ampezzo. The airline already flies to established ski destinations such as Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Lyon and Turin. Chief Executive Steve Heapy said: " We are experiencing strong demand from skiers and snowboarders clamouring to book the best of the action for Winter 24/25 and our ski flights are selling very well.
“With perfectly timed flights, we are giving skiers access to the best ski resorts across Europe, and we know our new ski services to Verona, along with those already on sale, will be a huge hit with snow sports enthusiasts next winter.” The budget airline and tour operator started its new route between Edinburgh and Malta earlier this week, on May 1. It's the first time the airline has linked the two airports, with the route launched due to great demand.
The service will run weekly, every Wednesday throughout summer 2024, until October 30, opening up a new holiday destination for those flying from Edinburgh. The airline said that holidaymakers in Scotland can now explore Malta’s "history packed towns and blissful marinas" as well.
