Monday, June 3, 2024 Japan Airlines (JAL) and IndiGo have entered into a codeshare agreement to enhance travel choices between Japan and India. This collaboration will initially boost JAL’s connections in India, followed by expanded travel opportunities for IndiGo passengers across JAL’s wide-reaching domestic and international network. As India’s premier airline with a dominant 60% market share, IndiGo will begin codesharing on domestic routes in India that align with JAL’s flights to and from Delhi and Bengaluru.
JAL currently runs daily flights from Tokyo Haneda to Delhi and thrice-weekly flights from Tokyo Narita to Bengaluru, catering to the robust air travel market between the two nations. Partnering with IndiGo, which boasts the largest domestic route network in India, JAL plans to build a comprehensive network across key Indian cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and many others. These routes will support connections to JAL’s flights, significantly enhancing accessibility for travelers.
With its reputation for quality in-flight services and timeliness, IndiGo’s partnership with JAL promises to deliver superior travel experiences to a broader audience.
