Thursday, June 6, 2024 Japan Airlines Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo with Mitsuko Tottori as its President and Group CEO, and Sumitomo Corporation, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo with Shingo Ueno as its Representative Director, President and CEO, proudly announced the launch of Soracle Corporation.

This new venture marks a significant collaboration between the two companies to operate and manage electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, commonly referred to as “flying cars” in Japan. Japan Airlines is committed to enhancing societal connections and relationships by using its deep-rooted expertise in air transportation to push the boundaries of air mobility services and expand its operations within Japan. Since 2018, Sumitomo Corporation has been actively working toward the commercialization of air mobility services, aiming to broaden its extensive aviation portfolio.
