Thursday, June 20, 2024 J-AIR launches free in-flight video streaming on Embraer 190s from July 12 to Sept 30, 2024. Osaka, JAPAN – Starting December 2022, J-AIR, a regional carrier of the Japan Airlines (JAL) group stationed at Osaka International Airport (Itami), initiated the provision of inflight internet services on smaller regional aircraft with fewer than 100 seats, a first in Japan. By July 11, 2024, J-AIR is set to expand this advanced service to encompass all 14 of its Embraer 190 planes (E90), coinciding with the finalization of their antenna installations.

In celebration of this achievement, starting July 12 through September 30, J-AIR will introduce the “J-AIR Unlimited Video Streaming Service,” a pioneering initiative among Japanese airlines. This offering is supported by Intelsat and will enable passengers aboard the Embraer 190 (E90) to enjoy unlimited video streaming at no additional cost. This is in addition to the already available inflight services such as internet access, email, and social media connectivity via inflight Wi-Fi, enhancing passenger comfort and entertainment options during flights.

Shunsuke Honda, President of J-AIR said :”I tried watching my favorite movie during a test flight and the 2-hour journey felt incredibly short. We are looking forward to everyone experiencing this service and are excited about welcoming more passengers aboard J-AIR flights.
