Wednesday, May 22, 2024 ITA Airways is reinforcing its commitment to its global network for the 2024-2025 winter season by boosting flight frequencies from Rome Fiumicino to both Miami and the Maldives. Starting from October 31st, ITA Airways will augment its service on the Rome-Miami route by adding two additional weekly flights, raising the total from 7 to 9. These new flights are scheduled to depart Rome Fiumicino on Thursdays and Saturdays at 3:00 p.
m. (local time), arriving in Miami at 9:55 p.m.
(local time). The return flights will leave Miami at 11:20 p.m.
(local time), reaching Rome at 3:10 p.m. (local time) the following day.
These added flights will be serviced by Airbus A330-900 aircraft. The expansion of flights to Miami underscores the strong performance of ITA Airways’ routes to North America, emphasizing the region’s strategic significance to the airline, second only to Italy. Currently, ITA Airways maintains eight routes connecting Rome Fiumicino to various cities in the United States and Canada.
This network expansion includes the recently launched nonstop services to Chicago in April and to Toronto earlier in May. Furthermore, during the upcoming winter season, ITA Airways will also increase the frequency of its direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Malé, the capital of the Maldives. Over the Christmas holiday, from December 30, 2024, to January 5, 2025, flights to Malé will run up to six times a week.
