This research relies on the abundance of Instagram posts featuring hashtags from various stops along popular road trip itineraries, sourced from reputable travel platforms. It aims to quantify the visual allure of each sight along these routes.

As the summer season approaches, Italy remains a top destination for European travelers. This study aids those inclined towards social media in crafting their Italian adventures, focusing on locations with the most aesthetic charm and picturesque backdrops. Earning the top spot for Instagram appeal is the five-day journey from Rome to Florence, boasting an impressive average of 6,787,677 posts per stop.



Following closely behind is a Northern Italy route traversing the Veneto and Trentino regions, with an average of 5,230,054 posts across its stops. The third most Instagrammable route extends from Southern Italy to Sicily, commencing in Naples and concluding in Palermo, with each stop garnering around 3,252,421 posts. Securing its position as the fourth most popular route on Instagram is the circuit from Milan through Northwest Italy, with an average of 3,068,671 posts per stop.
