Every year thousands of German tourists flock to the sandy beaches of to let loose and enjoy a weekend of raucous drinking, dancing and everything in between. In 1914, a railway was built which connected the tiny village to the rest of the island but it wasn’t until the introduction of the package holiday in the 1950s that the tiny settlement really saw its popularity start to boom. By the beginning of the 1980s, the strip’s reputation as a party place was on the up and up and stories about tourists going wild for the weekend would frequently make headlines.
German’s have been flocking to Majorca for years - there so many of them that statistics suggest one in every three visitor to the island hails from Germany.
