Thursday, June 20, 2024 IndiGo , India’s leading airline, has forged a new alliance with Garuda Aviation Academy to groom aspiring pilots as junior first officers through its Cadet Pilot Program. This collaboration marks the eighth partnership established by IndiGo over the past 13 years. The comprehensive 21-month program encompasses a three-month ground schooling phase at Garuda Aviation Academy’s Gurugram training center, followed by 12 months of intensive training at 43 Air School in South Africa.

Notably, 43 Air School boasts a distinguished record of training over 6000 ab-initio pilots. In the last 13 years, IndiGo has successfully integrated more than 1000 pilots into its ranks through these holistic training initiatives, which include obtaining a commercial pilot license and A320 type rating. From initial cadet selection to eventual induction as airline pilots, these programs ensure a seamless pathway to a career in aviation.
