Friday, May 24, 2024 Indian Hotels Company Limited unveils a new skill development initiative in Baramulla to empower local youth and fulfill the region’s skilled needs. Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the leading hospitality firm in India, has unveiled a new initiative in collaboration with REACHA, Tata STRIVE, and the Indian Army at Boniyar, Baramulla (a designated Aspirational District in Jammu & Kashmir). This initiative is designed to foster youth empowerment and meet the rising need for skilled labor in the area.
Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL said, “The surge in tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has created a significant demand for skilled workforce in the hospitality sector. We are delighted to take our existing association with REACHA a step further with this project.
Driving a positive social impact, the program is in line with IHCL’s ESG+ framework of Paathya, provides young individuals with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and contributes to the social and economic development of the region.” The newly established skill development center in Boniyar has the capacity to educate 200 students each year. The curriculum is career-oriented, providing comprehensive professional growth and specialized training in hospitality sectors such as ‘Bakery’ and ‘Food and Beverage Service’.
