Wednesday, May 22, 2024 Abu Dhabi, through DCT Abu Dhabi, reaffirms its goal to finish Saadiyat Cultural District by 2025, a beacon of cultural heritage and inclusivity. Abu Dhabi, represented by DCT Abu Dhabi, has recently restated its commitment to completing the Saadiyat Cultural District by 2025. This district, rooted in a deep cultural legacy, celebrates traditions and promotes an inclusive cultural environment.
It symbolizes empowerment through its array of museums, collections, and narratives that not only honor the region’s heritage but also contribute to a diverse global cultural scene. Once finalized, the variety of institutions within the Saadiyat Cultural District will render it a uniquely diverse cultural hub. Notably, it is already renowned as the home of Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Arab world’s first universal museum, known for juxtaposing artworks from various cultures and weaving a narrative of human interconnectedness.
Since its launch in 2017, Louvre Abu Dhabi has attracted 5 million visitors, acclaimed for both its stunning architecture and innovative storytelling. Adjacent to it, Berklee Abu Dhabi enriches the district with music, performing arts, and year-round educational programs. Moreover, Manarat Al Saadiyat functions as a hub for creative expression and hosts two major events in Abu Dhabi’s cultural calendar: Abu Dhabi Art and the Culture Summit.
Construction progress for the upcoming institutions in Saadiyat Cultural District currently stands at 76.
