Monday, May 20, 2024 Iberia is set to introduce the Airbus A321XLR, with plans to incorporate the first model into its fleet by the end of this summer. This addition will boost Iberia’s long-haul capabilities in a sustainable and innovative manner, enabling the airline to manage transoceanic flights using a narrow-body, single-aisle aircraft. This strategic enhancement will primarily benefit Iberia’s network across the Americas.

With more aircraft capable of making long-range trips, the A321XLR will allow for a more adaptable fleet deployment, tailored to meet the demands of various markets. Initially, the aircraft will serve medium-range routes, but it is expected to soon commence long-haul flights, starting with Washington DC, followed by Boston. A Premium Experience in a Narrow Body Aircraft The A321XLR stands out as a groundbreaking innovation in aviation, delivering long-haul flight capabilities in a single-aisle aircraft while maintaining a premium level of service akin to that found in the wide-body A330s and A350s of Iberia’s fleet.

This aircraft will feature 182 seats in a Business and Economy class layout, boasting several enhancements for passenger comfort. These include expanded overhead bins that accommodate 60% more carry-on luggage, six unique cabin lighting options, and a stylish new entryway panel. In the Business class, the A321XLR offers 14 individual window seats, each with direct aisle access.

These seats provide supreme comfort with ‘full flat’.
