Aerophobia, or a fear of flying, is a common phobia that can be crippling for those who suffer from it. However, sometimes the only way to overcome a phobia is by confronting your fears, often repeatedly. One woman believed that prolonged exposure to her nightmare was the best way to conquer it - so she became a flight attendant.
, known for sharing her on social media, says she chose her career because she battled with aerophobia. She would experience severe anxiety before or during a flight, which affected her ability to travel. But since taking up the job, she managed to overcome her fear and has now posted a video online detailing everything she learned to help herself cope, so other travellers can do the same.
In the video, which received over 224,000 likes, she said: "Are you scared of flying?" "As a flight attendant who only became a flight attendant to get over her fear of flying, here's some things I've learned along the way that have helped put my mind at ease every time I get up in the air." Firstly, she used jelly to demonstrate what happens when the plane goes through turbulence, as nervous flyers can find this distressing.
