Thursday, May 23, 2024 Hotelschool The Hague (HTH) and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) have unveiled a new partnership aimed at fostering sustainable practices and innovation in global tourism. This collaboration will extend the Sustainable Hospitality Challenge (SHC) to the Caribbean, enhancing its global footprint. SHC is renowned for encouraging students to devise creative solutions to sustainability issues in the hospitality industry.

By introducing the competition to the Caribbean, it taps into the region’s diverse cultural perspectives, enriching the contest and stimulating fresh, innovative ideas. This partnership intends to establish an inclusive forum where students from around the world can share their proposals and engage in the sustainable tourism conversation. Combining SHC’s extensive network with CTO’s efforts to promote the Caribbean as a top travel destination and leader in sustainable tourism, this initiative offers Caribbean students an opportunity to showcase their tourism prowess on an international stage.

The collaboration between HTH/SHC and CTO highlights their mutual commitment to promoting innovation and sustainability in the hospitality sector, aiming to equip future leaders to drive meaningful change and establish a lasting sustainable legacy. “We are delighted to witness the expansion of the Sustainable Hospitality Challenge into the Caribbean region,” says Paul Griep, Director of Alumni & Industry Relations at Hotelschool The H.
