A MAJOR warning has been issued to Leaving Cert students heading abroad this summer They are being urged to double-check age requirements for their digs prior to booking due a major policy update at a popular hotel destination. The Sun Beach Apartments in Mallorca , Spain , updated their age policy two weeks ago, that means they will no longer accept underage guests. The popular hotel said that as a family spot, they can no longer accept guests who promote parties and massive drink promotions.

Confirming the move, they said they "will no longer accept guests under the age of 21 years". A Facebook page shared an update this week, advising those going to the popular destination to double-check with their agents about the new policy. Glanmire Noticeboard said a Cork travel agent shared a letter informing students of the new age requirements.



They said: “This is a letter received only this week from a Cork travel agent informing them [leaving cert students] that they [The Sun Beach Apartments] are not accepting booking of under 21 year olds. “Some agents in Cork were not aware of this change and now kids have no accommodation or have to pay extra.” The letter added that the hotel “have advised that they will no longer accept guests under the age of 21”.

It continues: “They have offered a refund on the accommodation part of your booking. “We need to look into alternative options for you asap - as there are a lot of leaving cert students grabbing alternative accommoda.
