The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has provided Horizons Clinic (Gambia) Limited with a custom US$16.
8 million Construction and Medical Tourism Relay Facility (CONMED). This funding will facilitate the development of Horizons Clinic, a 60-bed, internationally accredited medical facility aimed at significantly enhancing healthcare in The Gambia. Horizons Clinic, situated in Kerr Serign, Kombo district, represents a landmark in delivering top-tier healthcare services to both The Gambia and its neighboring regions.
This project is set to generate over 150 temporary jobs during its construction phase and approximately 300 permanent positions, encompassing both clinical and non-clinical roles, upon its completion. Additionally, it will create around 30 indirect jobs for local suppliers of hospital consumables, technical parts, cleaning services, and other related businesses. This initiative marks Afreximbank’s most substantial private sector investment in The Gambia to date.
