Monday, June 17, 2024 Airport Authority Hong Kong boosts services to smooth arrivals, ensuring efficient operations. The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has enacted a series of initiatives to streamline the arrival process for passengers in Hong Kong today, ensuring overall smooth operations at the airport. To accommodate the increased traffic, the airport’s Automated People Mover system and customer service counters are extending their hours of operation.
Additionally, airlines are deploying extra staff to aid travelers, and there will be a boost in the number of personnel from cleaning contractors and baggage trolley services. AAHK has coordinated with various public transport operators to enhance services from the airport to the city. The Airport Express Link will see more frequent runs post-midnight, and both Citybus and Long Win Bus are set to augment their routes.
Operations on the North Runway were temporarily halted today due to a freight aircraft experiencing a tyre blowout and a hydraulic system malfunction upon touchdown. Out of the 932 total flights managed from 0700 to 2359hrs on Monday, approximately 450 passenger flights faced delays. These delays are expected to decrease by early Tuesday morning.
